International Conference and Workshop on Telecommunication, Computing, Electronics and Control (ICW-TELKOMNIKA) is annual international conference where all experts from home and abroad come together to present their latest works and share new ideas & visions for achieving the future telecommunication, computing, electronics and control for living a better life. 2018 ICW-TELKOMNIKA will be held on September 18-21, 2018 at Grand Dafam Rohan Hotel, Yogyakarta, Indonesia. This conference is hosted by Universitas Ahmad Dahlan and organized by TELKOMNIKA Telecommunication Computing Electronics and Control (Scopus indexed journal). 

This year’s conference theme is "Industry 4.0 Virtual, Augmented & Mixed Reality for Human-Robot Interactions (VAM-HRI) in Smart Service Systems: Present Findings & Future Directions for Living A Better Life". Industry 4.0 represents the fourth industrial revolution in manufacturing and industry which is the current industrial transformation with automation, data exchanges, cloud, cyber-physical systems, advanced robots & cobots, big data, virtual & augmented reality, edge computing, artificial intelligence, Internet of Thing and (semi-)autonomous industrial techniques to realize smart industry and manufacturing goals in the intersection of people, new technologies and innovation.

1. Prof. Dr. Daniel Thalmann (EPFL, Switzerland)

Daniel Thalmann

Prof. Daniel Thalmann is Honorary Professor at École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), Switzerland and Founder and Director of The Virtual Reality Lab (VRlab) at EPFL, Switzerland. He has been Visiting Professor at The Institute for Media Innovation (Nanyang Technological University, Singapore) from 2009 to 2017. He is a pioneer in research on Virtual Humans. His current research interests include Real-time Virtual Humans in Virtual Reality, crowd simulation, and 3D Interaction. Daniel Thalmann has been the Founder of The Virtual Reality Lab (VRlab) at EPFL, Switzerland, Professor at The University of Montreal and Visiting Professor/ Researcher at CERN, University of Nebraska, University of Tokyo, and National University of Singapore. He is co-editor-in-chief of the Journal of Computer Animation and Virtual Worlds. He has published more than 500 papers in Graphics, Animation, and Virtual Reality.

2. Prof. Dr. Nadia Magnenat Thalmann (University of Geneva, Switzerland)

Professor Nadia Magnenat Thalmann has pioneered research into virtual humans over the last 30 years. She obtained several Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in various disciplines (Psychology, Biology and Biochemistry) and a PhD in Quantum Physics from the University of Geneva in 1977. From 1977 to 1989, she was a Professor at the University of Montreal in Canada and then Professor at the University of Geneva. Professor Thalmann joined Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in August 2009 as the Director of the interdisciplinary Institute for Media Innovation. She is Editor-in-Chief of The Visual Computer Journal published by Springer Verlag, Co- Editor-in-Chief of the journal Computer Animation and Virtual Worlds published by Wiley and Associate Editor of many other scientific journals. She has published more than 500 papers and books on Virtual Humans and Social Robots with research topics such as 3D clothes, hair, body gestures, emotions modeling, and medical simulation.

3. Prof. Dr. Er Meng Joo (Nanyang Technological University, Singapore)

Prof Er Meng Joo is currently a Full Professor in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore and a PhD from Australian National University in 1992. Currently, Professor Er serves as the Editor-in-Chief of 3 international journals, namely International Journal of Intelligent Autonomous Systems, Transactions on Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence and the International Journal of Electrical and Electronic Engineering and Telecommunications. Professor Er Meng Joo's areas of expertise are intelligent control theory and applications, fuzzy logic and neural networks and robotics and automation. His current works focus on control theory and applications, fuzzy logic and neural networks, computational intelligence, cognitive systems, robotics and automation, sensor networks and biomedical engineering.

4. Dr.-Ing Ilham Akbar Habibie (CEO/President Director PT. Ilthabi Rekatama, Indonesia)

Dr.-Ing Ilham Akbar Habibie is an Independent Non-Executive Director at Coro Energy Plc, an Independent Commissioner at PT Intermedia Capital Tbk, a President Commissioner at PT Industri Mineral Indonesia, a President Commissioner at PT Ilthabi Digital Edukasi, a President Commissioner at PT Ilthabi Energia, a President Commissioner at PT Ilthabi Sentra Herbal and a President Commissioner at PT Dwi Sumber Arca Waja. Dr. Ilham co-founded Mitra Energia Ltd. in 2004. He is Owner of PT Ilthabi Bara Utama and serves as its President. He has also been the Chief Executive Officer and President of a number of aerospace and other companies which he founded. He served as a scientist and lecturer at the Technical University of Munich for seven years. He went on to work as an engineer at Boeing Commercial Airplane Group in the United States, from 1994 to 1996. While working in the United States, he assisted the President Director of Nusantara Aircraft Industry (IPTN, or now Indonesian Aerospace) the state-owned aerospace company in Indonesia, on the N2130 Regional Jet Program.

Since 1996, he served as Executive Vice President and Program Manager for Regional Jet Division of IPTN, subsequently the Executive Vice President of the Airplane Business Unit and then the Operation & Commercial Executive Vice President until 2000. He left PT. Dirgantara Indonesia in June 2001 to pursue his career in the private sector. From 1996 to 1998, he served as also the assistant to the Chairman of Agency for the Assessment and Application of Technology (BPPT) for Aeronautics and Advanced Technology. Since 2002, he has held senior positions at a number of Indonesian companies in the private sector, including Chief Executive Officer and President Director of PT. Ilthabi Rekatama and Commissioner of PT Citra Tubindo tbk since 2004.
