Archive Policy

Jurnal Hukum Novelty (JHN) is dedicated to the enduring preservation and accessibility of its academic content, ensuring that all published work is safeguarded for the benefit of future researchers, practitioners, and the broader public. Our archiving policy is carefully structured to maintain the integrity and availability of scholarly materials.

JHN implements sophisticated digital preservation measures, collaborating with reputable archiving services such as LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) and CLOCKSS (Controlled Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe). These systems provide a secure, redundant, and geographically dispersed network to safeguard digital assets, ensuring that JHN’s content remains accessible even in the face of unexpected technical challenges or organizational changes.

Accessibility remains at the core of our archival policy, with JHN committed to offering permanent, open access to all publications. Our website includes a complete open-access archive, where users can freely download and share articles in alignment with licensing agreements. Each article is enriched with extensive metadata, including author details, abstracts, keywords, and Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) registered with CrossRef, supporting reliable, persistent access and citation.

To address potential digital obsolescence, JHN employs forward-looking strategies for file format management and migration. Content is stored in standard, non-proprietary formats such as PDF/A to ensure longevity, and we periodically assess and migrate content to newer formats as required. Rigorous version control practices are in place, preserving all stages of an article from submission through publication, including any subsequent corrections or retractions.

Our archiving approach also adheres to legal and ethical standards. JHN follows copyright and Creative Commons licensing guidelines, enabling authors to retain copyright while granting distribution and archiving rights to the journal. This ensures open access to content while upholding intellectual property rights. Compliance with international digital preservation standards and data protection regulations further reinforces our commitment to ethical archiving practices.

To mitigate risks associated with technical disruptions, JHN has robust data backup and recovery protocols. Regular backups are securely stored across multiple locations, and our contingency planning includes alternative access and resource reallocation to maintain service continuity.

JHN actively partners with academic libraries and archival institutions, strengthening the dissemination and preservation of scholarly materials. We continually refine our archiving policy, integrating emerging technologies and best practices to ensure our preservation efforts remain innovative and future-proof.
