Abstract

Kehidupan manusia tidak akan pernah lepas dari proses interaksi dengan orang lain. Interaksi dibutuhkan individu untuk mengevaluasi hal yang telah dilakukan dan mengeksperikan perhatiannya terhadap orang lain. Pada proses interaksi sosial, individu akan berbagi informasi dan feedback dengan orang lain untuk mencari kenyamanan agar mendapat kesamaan batin, atau disebut sebagai shared reality. Shared reality yang dilakukan membutuhkan keterampilan komunikasi dan akan berbeda pada setiap orang. Penelitian ini bertujuan menguji perbedaan shared reality laki-laki dan perempuan melalui pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode survei. Partisipan pada penelitian ini adalah masyarakat Indonesia. Berdasarkan hasil analisis yang dilakukan, diperoleh nilai t=-3,719, p=< 0,05. Hasil penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan shared reality antara laki-laki dan perempuan. Perempuan melakukan shared reality cenderung lebih tinggi dibandingkan laki-laki. Hal ini disebabkan karena perempuan lebih mampu untuk mengembangkan hubungan dengan orang lain di lingkungan sekitar. Sementara laki-laki akan lebih senang dengan kegiatan yang berhubungan dengan kompetisi.
