Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  • If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.

Author Guidelines

General Requirements

The minimum standard requirements of the Jurnal Psikologi Terapan dan Pendidikan must be

  1. Written in Indonesian or English.
  2. The length of the submitted paper is at least six pages and no more than 20 pages. Editors will evaluate if an article needs more than 20 pages.
  3. Use a tool such as Mendeley, Zotero, or EndNote for reference management and formatting, and choose the American Psychological Journal Referencing Style (7th Edition).
  4. Make sure that your paper is prepared using the Jurnal Psikologi Terapan dan Pendidikan Template.

Structure of the manuscripts

  1. Title. The title should be clear, attractive, and informative and contain no more than 15 words.
  2. Author's names and institutions. The author's name should be accompanied by the author's institution and email address without any academic title. For a joint paper, one of the authors should be notified as to the corresponding author.
  3. Abstract, keywords, and MRBM classification numbers. The abstract should be less than 250 words. Please provide the abstract in English or Indonesian for an international readership, followed by 3 to 5 keywords relevant to the literature search.
  4. Introduction. This section explains the background of the study, a review of the previous research in the area, and the aims of the manuscripts. Importantly it should also showcase the significance and novelty of the research.
  5. Methods. This section describes the appropriate tools of analysis along with the data collection and their analyses.
  6. Results and Discussion. This section explains the results of the analysis. These should be presented clearly and concisely. The author (s) should explore the novelty or the contribution of their findings by comparing them to the existing literature and theories of Applied and Education Psychology.
  7. Conclusion. This section concludes and provides practical, theoretical, and policy implications, if any, of the study. The conclusion(s) should be drawn from the discussed items in the previous section of the manuscript (discussion).
  8. References. Expect a minimum of 30 references, primarily with a minimum of 90% to journal papers. Ones from the last ten years are recommended. Provide a list of references in alphabetical order and prepare following the American Psychological Journal Referencing Style (7th Edition). All listed references must be cited in the text, and all citations in the text must be listed in the list of references. The DOI for each reference must be provided if available. It is suggested that authors use reference manager programs such as Mendeley or Zotero, but they are not obliged to.
