About the Journal

Focus and Scope

HUMANITAS: Indonesian Psychological Journal is a journal that contains articles from both quantitative and qualitative research related to the recent issues on the field of Psychology that emphasize the novelty and originality of studies, including of:

1. Islamic Psychology

Topics: Religious development, Religious experience, Religion and attitude, Religion and mental health, and other relevant topics from Islamic point of view.

2. Clinical Psychology

Topics: Mental health, Psychopathology, Neuropsychology, Psychotherapy, Psychological interventions and treatment and other relevant topics.

3. Educational Psychology

Topics: Self regulation, Motivation and Determination, Learning, Careers planning and other relevant topics

4. Industrial and Organizational Psychology

Topics: Attitude and behavior related performance, Leadership, Entrepreneurship, Organizational change and development, and other relevant topics

5. Developmental Psychology

Topics: Early childhood, Child and Adolescent, Aging, Parenting and Attachment, Family strengthening and resilience, and other relevant topics.

6. Social Psychology

Topics: Attitudes, Social influence, Groups processes, Aggression, Prosocial behavior and others relevant topics.

7. Psychometrics

Topics: Rasch model, Item Response Theory, Factor Analysis, Scale Development, Validity, Reliability, and others relevant topics.


Peer Review Process

The review process focuses on the contribution, novelty, originality, relevance, and presentation of the article. In the first step, the submitted manuscript is reviewed by an Editor. The submitted manuscript will be evaluated whether it is suitable for HUMANITAS: Indonesian Psychological Journal focus and scope or has a major methodological flaw and similarity score by using iThenticate.

The manuscript will be sent to at least two anonymous reviewers (Double Blind Review). Reviewers' comments are then sent to the corresponding author for necessary actions and responses.

The suggested decision will be evaluated in an editorial board meeting. Afterward, the Editor will send the final decision to the corresponding author. The review process will take approximately 4 to 12 weeks.

Review Outcomes

Utilizing feedback from the peer review process, the Editor will make a final publication decision. Decisions categories include:

  • Reject - Rejected manuscripts will not be published and authors will not have the opportunity to resubmit a revised version of the manuscript to HUMANITAS.
  • Resubmit for Review“ The submission needs to be re-worked, but with significant changes, it may be accepted. However, it will require a second round of review.
  • Accept with Revisions - Manuscripts receiving an accept-pending-revisions decision will be published in HUMANITAS under the condition that minor/major modifications are made. Revisions will be reviewed by an editor to ensure necessary updates are made prior to publication.
  • Accept - Accepted manuscripts will be published in the current form with no further modifications required.

Correspondence

All correspondence concerning manuscripts should be directed to the Editor of Humanitas and cc to humanitas@psy.uad.ac.id. The Editor will direct all correspondence to the corresponding author; the corresponding author is responsible for sharing communications with other authors. Beyond communication concerning the review, manuscripts accepted for publication may require additional correspondence to complete copyediting and layout editing.

Publication Frequency

HUMANITAS published twice a year on February and August.

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

Journal History

HUMANITAS: Indonesian Psychological Journal, published by Faculty of Psychology, Universitas Ahmad Dahlan in January 2004. Initially, this journal was called HUMANITAS. To show the peculiarities of the scientific field of the periodical issue of Humanity, since 2017, the journal HUMANITAS has added information "Indonesian Psychological Journal". The initial purpose of publishing journals was to support and assist lecturers in scientific publications and scientific development in the field of psychology, especially for internal lecturers in Universitas Ahmad Dahlan. In its development, the demand for better quality publications and professional governance, since 2013 HUMANITAS has made changes in journal management, so that it can be accredited "B" in 2016 and in 2018 change to Sinta 2. HUMANITAS is now expected to be a reference for writers in publications in the field of psychology , contributing to the development of science, knowledge and psychological theory.
