Analisis Kebutuhan Pembelajaran Gelombang Bagi Calon Guru Fisik

Pembelajaran fisika di sekolah dan di perguruan tinggi sering tidak melibatkan proses berpikir bagaimana memperoleh ilmu pengetahuan. Fakta di lapangan menunjukkan pembelajar lebih banyak menerima materi ajar pada domain pengetahuan dan pemahaman, sedangkan analisis, inferensi dan evaluasi kurang mendapat perhatian. Penelitian analisis kebutuhan (need assessment) ini merupakan bagian dari penelitian tentang pengembangan program pembelajaran gelombang yang mengembangkan keterampilan berpikir kritis. Hasil pengolahan data awal berupa hasil ujian, menyatakan bahwa persoalan gelombang yang memuat kemampuan berpikir tingkat dasar telah dikuasai mahasiswa dengan baik (skor rerata 69,8), sedangkan yang memuat kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi belum dikuasai dengan baik (skor rerata 46,9). Proses pembelajaran perlupendekatan yang mengaktifkan mahasiswa, menggunakan strategi dan metode yang bervariasi, agar dapat membangkitkan motivasi dan meningkatkan keterlibatan aktivitas berpikirnya dalam belajar. Teknik evaluasi secara esai saja belum dapat menampilkan kompetensi dalam materi gelombang.
