Abstract. This study aims to determine how the role of EDP in the thinking process students engineers through student worksheets as teaching materials. This type of research is qualitative using a single case study method. Data were collected by observation, interviews, and documentation. Test using triangulation technique and member check. The results of this study show that each students engineering thinking profile is different. The data obtained shows that students can solve problems to provide design solutions to the EDP syntax. Students provide solutions to problems that occur in the EDP syntax in the scope of the problem, namely the definition and learn stages. While at the stage of the plan, try, test, and decide students can generate ideas that are used as problem-solving solutions in the form of engineering designs by providing a clear explanation of how the solution can work optimally for use.
